How much does a roof replacement cost in Phoenix?
Cited ranges, the factors that move the price, and how to get a real number for your roof.

Third-party guides put the average Phoenix roof replacement near $8,856, with most homeowners paying $6,273 to $11,694 (Angi, 2026). Local guides report about $4 to $6.50 per square foot for shingle, $7 to $12 for tile, and $6.50 to $10 for foam. Size, material, pitch, tear-off, and deck repairs set your price.
TL;DR
Phoenix roof replacement prices are published as wide ranges because roofs differ so much. Material and roof size matter most. A tile roof that only needs new underlayment costs less than all-new tile.

Published cost ranges for Phoenix
These are third-party figures, not 10X Roofing Advantage prices. We cite them so you have a starting point.
Angi's Phoenix guide reports an average of $8,856 and a typical range of $6,273 to $11,694, or about $4 to $11 per square foot depending on material. Phoenix Roofing and Repair's 2026 guide lists shingle at $4 to $6 per square foot, tile at $7 to $12, and foam at $6.50 to $10. Simply Roofing lists tile underlayment replacement with concrete tile reused at $4 to $7 per square foot.
The six things that move the price
- Roof size. Price is mostly per square foot, so a 2,500 square foot roof costs more than a 1,500 square foot roof.
- Material. Shingle is the lowest cost. Tile and foam cost more per square foot but last differently in the heat.
- Reusing tile. If your tile is sound, new underlayment under the existing tile costs less than new tile.
- Pitch and layout. Steep roofs and roofs with many valleys, hips, and penetrations take longer.
- Tear-off and deck repair. Removing old layers and replacing rotted decking adds labor and material.
- Access. Two-story homes, tight lots, and HOA rules add time.
Why a tile roof estimate can be much lower than you expect
Most West Valley tile roofs that leak have good tile and worn underlayment. In that case the job is a tile underlayment replacement: lift the tile, new underlayment, reset the same tile. You are paying for labor and underlayment, not new tile.
That is why we inspect first. The answer changes the price by a lot.
